Land distribution process in compensation begins

YouthsKathmandu / Sept 7: The Ministry of Youth and Sports has taken ahead the process of distribution of land to the folks of Mulpani in Kathmand, who have been affected by the ongoing project for the construction of Mulpani Cricket Ground.

The land distribution process follows the August 14 Cabinet decision to provide with land to 10 affected families of Mulpani in compensation of the land acquired for the project. The decision was made after dispute emerged on land compensation issue.

With this, 10 affected families will get land in compensation outside the project area.

The Ministry in line with Cabinet’s decision to this effect wrote the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation – the government’s responsible body to look after land-related affairs – to act on the matter, said Joint Secretary at Sports Ministry Arun Prasad Neupane.

The National Sports Council would coordinate the land distribution process. The Ministry of Land Management would cooperate with Sports Ministry in handing over the land soon, said the Ministry’s Spokesperson Janak Raj Joshi. RSS
