CJ Mishra administers oath to new CIAA chief Ghimire
Kathmandu / Sept 20: Chief Justice Om Prakash Mishra administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed chief commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Nabin Kumar Ghimire.
In the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, CJ Mishra administered the oath to Ghimire amid a special ceremony organized at Sheetal Niwas.
Also present on the occasion were Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, chief secretary, secretaries, chiefs of security bodies among other VIPs.
Nabin Ghimire endorsed as CIAA chief unopposed
Meanwhile, Nabin Ghimire’s name has been endorsed as the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) held in Singha Durbar today unanimously endorsed Ghimire as the CIAA chief.
Ghimre will official become the head of the CIAA once President Bidya Devi Bhandari administers oath of office and secrecy to him.
The PHSC had allocated 10 days’ time until September 17 for registering complaints against Ghimire. However, no complaints had been registered against him so far.
On September 5, the Constitutional Council (CC) had recommended Ghimire as the chief of the CIAA that had been headless for seven months. RSS
