Nepalgunj airport being upgraded

Makalu-Aircraft-CessnaNepalgunj / Sept 20: Upgrading of the Nepalgunj Airport has been taken forward along with preparation to operate Nepalgunj-Delhi flight.

The terminal, parking area, waiting room, and canteen are being constructed at the airport.

Director at Nepalgunj office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Premnath Thakur, said that preparation was underway to construct domestic and international terminals and to expand the existing runway 300 metres to the west and 200 metres to the east for facilitating the landing and takeoff of big aircraft.

Works have begun to prepare a model for airport upgrading, added Thakur. Similarly, the eatery run by Nepal Army at the airport area has been vacated. RSS
