Eighth national games postponed again

National Sports CouncilKathmandu / Dec 26: The eighth National Games scheduled to be held in province no 5 is likely to be postponed.

According to the National Sports Council, the Games is to be postponed for two to three weeks as construction work of Nepalgunj stadium is still underway. The Games is to be inaugurated at the stadium.

The Games earlier scheduled for November was postponed to January 8, 2019.

NSC Vice-President, Pitamber Timsina, said, “The Games will be postponed from January 8 again, due to failure to complete the physical infrastructure construction works.”

Timsina said the new date for the Games would be determined within a day or two. Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ana Prasad Neupane said that preparation has been made to postpone the championship for two weeks. RSS
