Multi-ethnic museum to build in Pathari

Eco museumMorang / Jan 10: The province 1 government is set to construct a multi-ethnic museum in the area vacated by Bhutanese refugees in Patharishanishchare Municipality-10 in Morang.

Province Minister for Social Development Jiban Ghimire in the course of an inspection of the construction site confirmed the museum construction.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said a cultural village would also be built replicating the three cultural sites of Pathivara, Halesi and Barahachhetra. The cultural village will represent the life of the people of mountain, hill and Tarai.

The first meeting of a taskforce formed to prepare the concept of the religious village also took place involving the minister as a participant.

The museum will be spread over more than 100 bighas of land. The provincial government has set aside Rs 5 million for the fiscal year of 2018/19 to prepare the detailed project report for the project.

Many of Bhutanese refugees left for their third-country resettlement under the UNHCR’s resettlement programme. Only 1400 Bhutanese refugees are residing in the area at present. RSS
