CoAS Thapa conferred honorary rank of General of India

Purna-Chandra-ThapaKathmandu / Jan 12: President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday conferred the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army to General Purna Chandra Thapa, the Chief of Nepal Army.

CoAS Thapa was conferred the rank insignia amidst a special function organized at the Rastrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, India in continual of a tradition of exchange of honorary titles between army chiefs of Nepal and India since 1950.

CoAS Thapa had left for New Delhi on Friday for a six-day official visit at the invitation of his Indian counterpart General Bipin Rawat. According to the Nepal Army Public Relations Directorate, CoAS Thapa also visited New Delhi based National Defence College. RSS
