Rabindra Adhikari Memorial Foundation established in Pokhara

Pokhara / June 1: Rabindra Adhikari Memorial Foundation has been established in memory of late minister Rabindra Adhikari in Pokhara on Saturday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today unveiled the copper plaque of the Foundation amidst a programme organised in Kaski district. During the programme, PM Oli recalled the exemplary work accomplished by late Adhikari in his short ministerial term while adding that the responsibility to complete works started by him had been transferred to his government.

Sharing that he had known late Adhikari since 1982, PM Oli said that he was unforgettable for his friendly nature, among other qualities. He further said that the government has set aside Rs 10 million for the immediate use of the Foundation.

Gandaki Province Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, at the programme, said that Adhikari was the advocate of prosperity in the nation. He also committed to cooperate with the Foundation.

Chairperson of the Foundation Bidhya Bhattarai, wife of the late minister, said that the institution was established with the support of family, friends and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to memorialise the thinking and vision of late Adhikari.

According to the General Secretary of the Foundation, Dhanraj Acharya, a 35-member ad hoc committee was formed for the establishment of the Foundation along with a 45-member consultant committee.
