Vacancy announcements for province 2 government in accordance with existing laws, says PSC chairman

Kathmandu / June 3: Chairman of the Public Service Commission(PSC) Umesh Prasad Mainali has said that the recent vacancy announcements for the province 2 government were not against the existing laws.

Speaking at the Parliamentary State Affairs Committee on Monday, PSC Chairman Mainali said that the vacancy announcements made by the commission were in line with the Constitution.

“We announced the vacancies as requested by the provincial government,” he said.

The PSC had announced vacancies for over 9,000 posts as demanded by the province 2 government.

The Madhes-based parties have been opposing the modality of the vacaMency announcement calling it non-inclusive.

The Madhes-based parties argue that the vacancy announcement failed to acknowledge the principle of inclusiveness and proportional representation as enshrined in the Constitution. Courtesy: Myrepublica
