Remittance up by 20 %

Kathmandu / June 19: Despite the declining number of people leaving for foreign jobs, the remittance into the country has increased by 20 percent, according to Nepal Rastra Bank report.

Making public the economic and commercial status of the country in the past ten months of the current fiscal year, the NRB shared that remittance increased by 19.6 per cent in the country, reaching Rs 725 billion.

In the previous ten months, the remittance was upped by seven per cent. The outflow of the people for foreign employment as per the labour permit record declined by 36.6 percent in the last ten years. In the previous year of the same period, the out flux was declined by six percent.

Similarly, the NRB data analysis showed that mountainous region witnessed much price hike. The inflation reached 6.1 percent in the mountainous region. RSS
