International Youth Day to be made effective

Kathmandu / July 19: The government has been making preparation to celebrate International Youth Day on August 12.

The National Youth Council today held discussion with different organizations to celebrate the Day. On the occasion, all stressed the need of taking the Day in an effective manner rather than celebrating it for a day as a ritual. Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Bishwokarma said that the International Youth Day would be celebrated for the whole year by organizing various activities and added that the Ministry has been bringing programs in order to resolve youths’ problems and challenges. He said, “The Day would be celebrated in an effective manner as the government has announced this year ‘Youth Mobilization Year’. We are running different programs the whole year as this year is going to be celebrated as youth mobilization year.”

Minister Bishwokarma said, “We will head youths towards the path to achieving national goal”, saying prosperity in the country was possible only if youths are linked with labor production. Similarly, Executive Vice-Chair of Youth and Small Enterprises Self-Employment Fund, Prem Prasad Dangal, stressed the need of taking youth target program in every group. Likewise, Executive Vice-Chair of National Youth Council, Madhav Dhungel, laid emphasis on the need for support of all to make the Day fruitful. The International Youth Day is being celebrated in Nepal since 2004. This year’s International Youth Day is going to be celebrated under the theme ‘Transformation in Education’. RSS
