Province 5 comes with SDG baseline report

Rupandehi / July 27: Province 5 has developed its Sustainable Development Goals Baseline report.

Chief Minister Shanker Pokharel and Vice-chair of the State Policy and Planning Commission released the report amidst a function here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pokharel said that collaboration and cooperation of all was essential to successfully achieve the sustainable development goals.

He however said that the SDGs cannot be achieved without realizing the three dimensions of federalism in Nepal—political, administrative and financial. Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Nepal Valerie Julliand called for coordination among the local, state and federal levels for achieving the sustainable development goals. Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme Ayshanie Medagangoda stressed on the need to support the State governments in order to reach the targets set by the SDGs.

The baseline report was developed by the State Policy and Planning Commission with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in Nepal.
