Home Minister thanks security personnel for making Xi’s visit a grand success
Kathmandu / Oct 14: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has thanked the security personnel for their efforts to make two-day state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping a grand success.
At a meeting with security personnel at Home Ministry on Monday, Minister Thapa said that security work plan for Xi’s visit proved effective and it sent a message to the world that Nepal’s security mechanism is reliable and capable enough to handle such high-profile visits.
“Chinese President’s visit to Nepal turned to be successful due to dedicated and responsible involvement of security personnel from the policymaking level to security arrangement on the street,” lauded Thapa.
During the meeting, Minister Thapa informed that the Chinese side had praised security management by the Nepali side during the Chinese President’s stay.
He further directed the representatives from concerned security bodies to be vigilant against any anti-China activity as Nepal always voices for one-China policy.
According to the Home Minister, the recent visit of the Chinese President would add a new dimension to Nepal-China bilateral ties.
Also speaking at the meeting, Secretary at Home Ministry Prem Kumar Rai thanked and congratulated all the security staffers for sound security management. He added that experience would help to execute such works in the future.
Inspector General of Armed Police Force Shailendra Khanal, Chief of National Investigation Department Ganesh Adhikari, Acting Inspector General of Nepal Police Puskar Karki and Major General of Nepal Army Sashichandra Bahadur Singh were present at the meeting among others.
