Police Chief Khanal leaves for Chile

Kathmandu / Oct 14: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sarbendra Khanal left for Chile to take part in the 88th INTERPOL General Assembly on Sunday night.

IGP Khanal is accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of Police at the Central Investigation Bureau, Niraj Bahadur Shahi and Senior Superintendent of Police at INTERPOL section, Umesh Raj Joshi.

According to the Police Headquarters, Kathmandu, The Assembly would discuss 19 points issues relating to security measures to be taken by crime and security sector across the world. The event scheduled for October 15-18 is to be attended by chiefs of 194 INTERPOL member states.

Various high-level police personnel bade farewell to the team at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Following IGP Khanal’s departure, Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Puskar Karki has been assigned to look after day-to-day work of police administration in the absence of IGP.
