Prepare immediately for treatment, quarantine of Nepalis to be brought from Wuhan: PM tells Ministers

Kathmandu / Feb. 6: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed ministers and officials to immediately prepare for treatment and quarantine period of the stduents and Nepali nationals to be brought back from Wuhan of Hubei province in China.

At a meeting in his official residence at Baluwatar on Thursday, the Prime Minister also directed the officials to prepare quarrantine spot at four different places- Shivapuri, Ichangu Narayan, Surya Binkayak and Kharipati in the Kathmandu valley.

PM Oli issued the guidance in view of risks of the novel coronavirus infection in course of rescue of the Nepali students and Nepali nationals willing to come to Nepal from Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus epidemic, in Hubei of China.

The PM held a special meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Home Minister, Foreign Minister, Health and Population Minister, Chief Secretary and top security officers.

At the meeting Narayan Prasad Kafle, secretary at the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, urgent workplan while foreign secretary Shankar Das Bairagi briefed the meeting about the latest situation.

Nepal had earlier decided to provide 100 thousand protective masks to China as assistance in the fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic in China.
