Govt serious to address all health problems: Minister Dhakal

Kathmandu / Apr. 22 : Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal said the government was working seriously to control the spread of coronavirus and solve all other health problems.

Receiving the personal protective equipment (PPE) booths provided by Panchakanya Group and Rotary Club Kathmandu at the Ministry today, Minister Dhakal said people from all professions could extend help to boost the morale of medical and health professionals. Such assistance is a great contribution to government’s campaign to contain coronavirus where the doctors, nurse and health workers were working in the forefront.

Panchakanya Group’s chair Pradip Shrestha informed that they were ready to cooperate with the government at this hour of need. More number of PPE booths would be prepared and handed over to the government, he added.

Chinese aid of medical supplies to Nepal handed over at Tatopani

China has provided medical supplies as donation to Nepal to help battle against the spread of COVID-19.

The medical supplies were donated by Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

“This batch of medical supplies was donated by Xizang Autonomous Region to Nepal. Among them there are 10000 N95 masks, 10000 PPEs, 1000 infrared thermometers, 2 PCR machines, 20000 testing kits (including 20000 VTMs) and 50 boxes of disinfectant wet wipes,” said Wang Xiolong, spokesperson of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nepal.

The medical supplies were handed over to Nepal today on China-Nepal Friendship Bridge at Zhangmu-Tatopani port in Sindhupalchok district.

The Chinese Embassy will continue to strengthen communication and coordination, provide support and assistance to Nepal within our capacity, the spokesperson said in the remark on the handing over of the support.

China and Nepal have always maintained solidarity and helped each other in fighting against COVID-19. The Chinese Embassy attaches great importance to the Nepal’s demand for medical supplies, coordinates with different parties to collect those materials, he added.

India gifts 23 tonnes of essential medicines to Nepal to fight COVID-19

As part of ongoing bilateral cooperation between India and Nepal to fight COVID-19 Pandemic, Ambassador of India to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra, on behalf of the Government of India, handed over 23 tonnes of medicines to Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal on Wednesday.

The consignment, as a gift from the people of India to people of Nepal, includes 8.25 lakhs dosage of essential medicines, including 3.2 lakhs dosage of Paracetamol and 2.5 lakhs dosages of Hydroxychloroquine, according to a press statement issued by Embassy of India in Nepal.
