COVID-19: 61,000 persons undergo test; 23,000 in quarantine facilities

Kathmandu / May 2: The government has effectively implemented measures to keep the suspects at quarantine facilities in an effort to suppress the spread of COVID-19.

As informed, a total of 22,978 suspects are quarantined across the country. Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Bikas Devkota shared that a total of 61,000 tests including 13,098 PCR and 48,529 RDT were undertaken so far. In the past 24 hours, 1,252 persons underwent tests for coronavirus.

Total 89 suspects including four in Kathmandu and 85 outside are kept at isolation wards under medical surveillance. The ministry has addressed 2,084 phone calls received at its centre on the issues around COVID-19. Number of people submitting their self-test details have reached 29,000.

The score of people testing positive for coronavirus remains 59, out of which 16 have returned home after complete cure. The remaining 43 are undergoing treatment with normal health condition, the ministry shared.
