179 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in 24 hours
Kathmandu / Apr. 2: The Ministry of Health and Population on Friday confirmed 179 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 277,640.
“In 3,565 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 179 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.
Currently, there are 1,647 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 61 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, 111 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 272,962 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.3 per cent.
No COVID-19 related fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, currently, the nation’s COVID-19 death toll is at 3,031.
