1,227 new cases of COVID-19 and eight fatalities in 24 hours
Kathmandu / April 19: The Ministry of Health and Population on Monday confirmed 1,227 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 285,900.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,227 new infections were recorded in 7,001 RT-PCR tests, and 541 cases were recorded via 547 antigen tests being done at health desks in various border points.
Currently, there are 7,254 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 6,667 are placed in home isolation while 587 are receiving treatment in various institutional isolations. Likewise, 81 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Of the active patients, 148 are admitted to the ICU and 43 are receiving treatment with a ventilator facility.
Meanwhile, 255 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 275,555 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 96.04 per cent.
Moreover, eight COVID-19 related fatalities were confirmed in the last 24 hours. Currently, the COVID-19 death toll is 3,091 and the death rate is 1.08 per cent.
