China pledges additional medical help to Nepal in fight against COVID-19

Kathmandu / April 27: China has announced to provide Nepal with an addition medical assistance to Nepal for the fight against rising cases of COVID-19.

Wang Yi, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, made this announcement in course of the video conference with Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on Tuesday.

“During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, announced to provide Nepal with an additional grant of medical equipment and materials equivalent to 5 million RMB to complement national efforts in fighting against COVID-19,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its press release issued today.

Foreign Minister Gyawali attended a video conference of the Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Joint Response to COVID-19 this afternoon, according to the Foreign Ministry.

ln his address to the conference, Minister Gyawali stressed the need for enhanced level of regional and international cooperation for COVID-19 response and economic recovery, read the press release.
