MoHP reports 8,842 new cases of COVID-19, 5,055 recoveries and 214 fatalities
Kathmandu / May. 13: With 8,842 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Thursday, the nation’s novel coronavirus tally has reached 431,191.
In 19,474 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 8,842 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Health Ministry in its regular update.
Likewise, out of 771 antigen tests done in the last day, the virus infection was detected in 118 people.
Currently, there are 105,207 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 8,828 are admitted to various institutional isolations and 96,379 are placed in home isolation. Likewise, 497 people mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Of the active patients, 1,381 are admitted to the ICU and 380 are under treatment with the ventilator facility.
Meanwhile, 5,055 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 321,518 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is 74.6 per cent.
The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday added 214 fatalities to the nation’s COVID-19 death toll, which has now spiked to 4,466.
