SC refuses to issue interim order; cases to be tested in Constitutional Court

Kathmandu / May 27: The hearing on all the writ petitions relating to the dissolution of the House of Representatives registered at the Supreme Court is to be held in the Constitutional Bench.

A single bench of Chief Justsice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana that looked into the 19 petitions relating to the HoR dissolution in the regular bench today decided to send all the writs to the Constitutional Bench.

With this order, hearing of all 30 writs will be held on Friday, tomorrow.

As many as 30 writ petitions have been registered at the Supreme Court demanding the restoration of the House of Representatives (HoR) which was dissolved by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on May 22 for the second time. Earlier the House was dissolved on December 20 last year. It was restored by a Supreme Court order on February 23 earlier this year.
