4,178 new cases of COVID-19, 6,491 recoveries and 114 fatalities in 24 hours

Kathmandu / May 31: With 4,178 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Monday, the nation’s novel coronavirus tally has reached 561,302.

In 15,055 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 4,178 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population in its daily update.

Likewise, out of 2,425 antigen tests done on the last day, the virus infection was detected in 584 people.

Currently, there are 106,470 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation.

Meanwhile, 6,491 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 447,446 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is 79.7 per cent.

The Ministry of Health and Population on Monday added 114 fatalities to the nation’s COVID-19 death toll, which has now reached 7,386.
