Transport entrepreneurs call for opening obstructed highways
Kathmandu / Sept 23: The National Federation of Nepalese Transport Entrepreneurs (NFNTE) has called for immediately opening the roads that have been obstructed due to rain.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the NFNTE Chairperson Yogendranath Karmacharya called for the government to immediately reopen the obstructed highways and roads to take passengers to their destinations without hassles in view of the upcoming festive times.
“Number of passenger-ferrying vehicles would surely increase with the rise in the flow of passengers to and from Kathmandu Valley for festive celebrations. But it seems the vehicles would face trouble in operating their services with the disruption of main highway and rural roads outside Kathmandu Valley,” Chairperson Karmacharya further said.
Likewise, NFNTE General-Secretary Saroj Sitaula said they are finding it difficult to open pre-booking tickets for Dashain due to lack of smooth two-way road traffic. The NFNTE has demanded the government take immediate initiatives to ensure smooth operation of two-way traffic in the highways and roads.
