NA endorses policies and programmes
Kathmandu / May 27: National Assembly has approved the policy and program of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022/23 with a clear majority on Friday.
Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina had tabled the programme and policy of the government in the national assembly for discussion.
Before the approval by the assembly the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Govinda Prasad Sharma Koirala had replied to the queries raised during the discussion of the assembly on the behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The amendment proposal in the policy and program was disapproved by the majority of the assembly.
Members of the assembly Beduram Bhusal, Shekar Kumar Singh, Bimala Rai Paudel, Bhairavsundar Shrestha, and Devendra Neupane, had demanded some clarifications.
During the clarification, Koirala promised that government will keep the production and processing of herbs in its priority and will appropriate budget for it.
He clarified that the price of petroleum is determined according to the change in the price in the international market and it is not under the control of the government.
He said that it is too early to comment on the decision of the Supreme Court delivered on Thursday with regard to the Nijgadh International Airport without a detailed study of the decision.
The National Assembly held discussions on Thursday and Friday on the program and policy 2022/23 presented by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on 24 May.
