EC proposes to limit number of people in election publicity programme to 25
Kathmandu / Aug. 22: The Election Commission has proposed to put a cap on the number of people participating in an election publicity programme to 25 at maximum.
Shaligram Sharma Puadel, spokesperson of the EC, informed that such a proposal was put forth in the meeting of the EC with the political parties held today.
He said that the number of maximum people in an election publicity campaign was fixed in view of the complaints that contesting in the election was getting expensive as there were practices to lure the voters with different excuses.
The election of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Provincial Assembly (PA) is slated for November 20.
He said the ballot paper will have election symbols of those parties/individuals that are contesting in a given constituency.
Spokesperson Paudel said that the political parties expressed mixed reactions to the proposed code of conduct for the election.
The EC will publish the election code of conduct analyzing the reactions of the political parties in the Nepal gazette.
