Cabinet approves 663 temporary posts

Kathmandu / Aug. 30: The government has decided to approve a total of 663 temporary posts for different projects and programmes under various ministries.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on August 29 took a decision to this effect for the fiscal year 2079/80 BS.

In a news conference today, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Spokesperson of the Government of Nepal, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, said temporary posts of different services, groups, sub-groups and categories have been approved needed for projects under the ministries.

According to Minister Karki, the decision was made not for new appointment adding that officials’ management would be ensured from the existing permanent officials.

Such temporary posts were created for different projects and programmes under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Forests and Environment, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Medical Education Commission.

Likewise, the cabinet meeting decided to approve 140 million US Dollar (nearly Rs 17 billion) in concessional loan to be received from the International Development Association of the World Bank Group for the Digital Nepal Acceleration Project.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting approved the visit of National Planning Commission vice-chairperson Dr Bishownath Poudel for his participation in the 53rd Board of Governors of the ICIMOD to take place in Bhutan from September 9 to 11.

Furthermore, the cabinet meeting decided to grant approval for extending invitation to the ministers from four countries to take part in Mustang Summit being held in Mustang district from September 20-21.

The cabinet also approved the visit of Minister for Forests and Environment Pradip Yadav to the USA to take part in ‘The Global Methylene, Climate and Clean Air Forum’ to be held on September 26-30. RSS
