Home Minister Lamichhane directs CDOs to protect people from extreme cold
Kathmandu / Jan 2: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has instructed the chief district officers of all 77 districts to prepare a plan to protect the people from natural disasters such as cold waves during the winter season.
DPM Lamichhane instructed CDOs and security agencies of all 77 districts via virtual means to protect the people from natural disasters and extreme cold.
According to Ghanshyam Upadhyay, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Minister Lamichhane held a virtual meeting from the Ministry of Home Affairs and instructed to focus on complaint-free service delivery.
Minister Lamichhane has instructed to keep the security system tight and pay attention to revenue leakage, according to Upadhyay.
Meanwhile, a five-member investigation committee has been formed under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General Durga Singhas to investigate Nirmala Panta murder case as per the instruction of Home Minister Lamichhane.
Home Minister Lamichhane also promised to continue his efforts to improve the home administration and ensure the rule of law.
Similarly, Lamichhane has also conducted an on-site monitoring of the Department of Passports and gave necessary instructions for improving service delivery.
DPM Lamichhane had already said publicly that he chose the Ministry of Home Affairs because most of the citizens had to deal with the home administration and most of the people’s complaints would be in the agencies under the home ministry.
