Govt to fix minimum support price of sugarcane

Kathmandu / Jan 12: The government is planning to fix a minimum support price for sugarcane.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Prakash Kumar Sanjel, informed that a proposal to fix the minimum support price of sugarcane has been sent to the council of ministers.

The new price will be implemented after the approval of the council of ministers.

He informed that the ministry has proposed to increase the price in comparison to the previous fiscal year’s price of Rs 590 per quintal.
