Special Planning Platform to kick off on February 2

Kathmandu / Jan 30: For the first time in Nepal, Special Planning Platform is scheduled to be held in Nepal on February 2 and 3 with the coordination of Ministry of Urban Development.

The event is being organized in partnership with the UN Habitat, Government of Japan and other agencies.

Top level officials from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mozambique, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Vietnam, and experts shall participate in the Platform, the Ministry shared at news conference today.

This Platform was established in 2018 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of the Government of Japan to join hands for the development of sustainable, resilient and inclusive society and urban settlement.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Urban Development Pradip Pariyar said that the platform is expected to assist with the officials in formulating policies that suit best for the federal, provincial and local contexts amid challenges posed by natural disasters, climate change and others.

Good practices from different countries applied for land and urban management would be shared in the programme. RSS
