Nearly 200 students get Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship

Kathmandu / May 24: Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship has been awarded to 198 Nepali students.

National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina handed over the award to the students amidst a special ceremony held here today.

The scholarships are awarded to deserving/ bright students of government schools selected by the respective Principals from across Nepal. This year 198 students from 43 schools were awarded including one laptop to the Best Student, stated the Embassy of Pakistan in its press release issued today.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman Timilsina lauded Pakistan for its continued support and advancing people-to-people contacts between the two countries especially in the field of education. This, he said, was a reflection of the close friendly ties between Pakistan and Nepal. He expressed appreciation for the Embassy’s efforts which, he said, had gone a long way in bringing the youth of the two countries closer, according to the press release.

Pakistan’s Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi expressed his resolve and desire to further expand the scholarship programme and strengthening Pakistan-Nepal bilateral relations. He said Nepalese youth’s encouragement in studies, sports and healthy social activities is our mainstay of the cooperation, read the press release.

Ambassador of Pakistan scholarship programme, started in 2013, has been growing over the years and has become popular among Nepali youths.
