Cabinet meeting discusses PM Dahal’s India visit

Kathmandu / May 30: The Council of Ministers on Tuesday discussed the issue of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s official visit to neighboring India, starting from Wednesday.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, who is also the government’s spokesperson, said that the Prime Minister Dahal’s visit to India was discussed in the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

“There was a general discussion on the preparation of the prime minister’s visit to India from tomorrow during the cabinet meeting,” she said.

Communications Minister Sharma also said that the government delegation to visit India has been finalized. Prime Minister Dahal will lead the Nepali delegation during his official visit to India. PM Dahal is scheduled to leave for India on Wednesday via a Nepal Airlines Corporation aircraft.

The issue of budget was also discussed in the cabinet meeting, said Communications Minister Sharma.

Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat presented the annual budget for the fiscal year 2023/824 in a joint session of both the houses of the federal parliament on Monday. The budget will be discussed and passed from both houses of parliament.

Likewise, a general discussion on citizenship was also held during the cabinet meeting. However, the issue of citizenship that was decided by the previous Cabinet meeting was sent to the President’s Office for approval.
