Final rites of Nemwang performed
Kathmandu / Sept 1: The final rites of Constituent Assembly Chairperson and CPN (UML) Vice-Chairperson, Subas Nemwang, were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today with state honours.
Nemwang’s sons—Mingso Nembwang and Suhang Nemwang lit their father’s funeral pyre. On the occasion, a contingent of the Nepali Army had presented a guard of honour.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ paid tribute to Nemwang by draping the national flag over his body while CPN (UML) Chairperson, KP Sharma Oli, draped the party flag over Nemwang’s body.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy-Speaker Indira Rana, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chair Rajendra Lingden, Chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha, Chitra Bahadur KC, among other leaders had reached Pashupati Aryaghat to pay their tribute to late Nemwang.
A funeral procession taken out from Nemwang’s private house in Baluwatar had reached Pashupati Aryaghat passing through Teaching Hospital, Narayan Gopal Chowk, Dhumbarahi and Gaushala. Top leaders, cadres, well-wishers and general people had joined the funeral procession.
Nemwang died on Tuesday morning due to a heart attack. He was 71. RSS
