KMC to install CCTV cameras and lights in Kathmandu streets: Deputy Mayor Dangol

Kathmandu / Oct 6: Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) made an announcement during the closing ceremony of Road Safety and Traffic Awareness Week-2080, stating that the installation of CCTV cameras and street lights along the main roads of KMC will be completed within the next three months.

Deputy Mayor Dangol revealed that agreements have been finalized with Nepal Police for the installation of CCTV cameras and with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for the installation of street lights. She emphasized that significant progress has been made in these endeavors. Additionally, KMC has already initiated a tender worth Rs 1 billion to transform the roads into dust-free thoroughfares.

Deputy Mayor Dangol shared that the tender encompasses a comprehensive plan, which includes tasks ranging from pothole repair to the enhancement of pedestrian walkways. The KMC is committed to improving the city’s infrastructure and enhancing road safety measures for the benefit of its residents.
