Upcoming budget to focus on completing ongoing projects: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu / Jan 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the upcoming annual budget will be focused on completing the ongoing projects as traditional policy and programmes as well as the budget allocation pattern will not solve the problems.

PM Prachanda said so at the meeting on preparations for policy and programme and the budget for the upcoming fiscal year held in Singha Durbar.

Saying that development should be planned, the PM stressed that all strength should be focused on completing the projects that have remained incomplete.

“Although indicators of economy are positive, our economy is not free from pressure. There are a lot of anomalies in development works,” said PM Prachanda, “This time we have to rise above from conventional thought and style. Projects should be selected to accomplish the task of making the country prosperous, not to make everyone happy. And we have to make a breakthrough this time.”

On the occasion, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat pointed out the need to move forward economically as revenue mobilization has not been as successful as expected.
