KMC to provide free parking in Dharahara from tomorrow

Kathmandu / Jan 27: Free parking service will be available from tomorrow on the first floor of the parking building built along with Dharahara.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is going to provide this service while providing convenient parking space to the public after prohibiting vehicle parking on the black-topped road in New Road.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajunath Pandey, head of Metropolitan Police Force, said, “Earlier, free parking service was provided at Kathmandu Tower (formerly the old bus park). In coordination with stakeholders, we are going to provide service in the parking building in the Dharahara area from tomorrow.”

According to Pandey, 50,000 square feet area will be available for free parking. “When we go to the new road from Shahid Gate, we will reach the parking place on the left side from the road leading to Khichapokhari from Kathmandu Mall.”

During the period from last Dashain to Chhath festival, the ward office provided free parking service in collaboration with partners and local clubs.

Structurally, this place is the largest parking structure in Nepal.
