Govt. recommends three joint secretaries to post of Secretary

Kathmandu / March 28: The names of three joint secretaries have been recommended for promotion to the one vacant post of Secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration. The Secretary Promotion Recommendation Committee, led by chairman Madhav Prasad Regmi, who also serves as the chairman of the Public Service Commission recommended the names of joint secretaries Hari Lamsal, Kedarnath Sharma and Loknath Paudyal for consideration.

During the cabinet meeting on Thursday, one of the three individuals will be promoted to the position of Secretary. According to sources, Lamsal, listed as the top recommendation, has been serving as the Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office of Sudurpaschim Province since November 8, 2023.

Kedarnath Sharma, the second recommendation, has held the position of Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office of Koshi Province since January 22. Meanwhile, Loknath Paudyal, the third recommendation, is currently working at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

If promoted without being ranked, Lamsal will assume the role of Secretary.
