Rimal and Khatiwada appoints advisers to PM Oli
Kathmandu / July 18: Bishnu Rimal has been appointed as the chief political adviser to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to appoint Rimal to the position, according to Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, who is also the government’s spokesperson.
Rimal, who is also deputy general secretary of CPN-UML, was the chief political adviser also during the previous prime ministerial term of Oli. Rimal was a member of the first Constituent Assembly.
Similarly, former minister Yubaraj Khatiwada has been appointed as the economic adviser to the prime minister.
He previously served as the finance minister in Oli’s Cabinet after 2017.
After his exit as finance minister, Khatiwada was appointed as the ambassador to the United States. Khatiwada is also a former Nepal Rastra Bank governor and former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission.
