Senior Litterateur Baidya releases seventh book ‘Bhadragol’
Kathmandu / Aug. 24: Senior litterateur Jhapendra Raj Baidya released his seventh book, “Bhadragol,” during a ceremony in the capital on Saturday. The book was unveiled by Mohan Baidya Kiran, Chairperson of the Revolutionary Communist Party of Nepal, in an event attended by people from various walks of life.
Born in the Pyuthan district of Nepal, Baidya’s writings reflect his childhood memories and the broader socio-political landscape of the country. Known for his pro-people and leftist ideology, Baidya consistently addresses issues of discrimination and the hardships faced by ordinary people in his works.
Speaking at the book launch, Chief Guest Mohan Baidya Kiran commended Baidya’s role in raising societal awareness through his literary contributions. Various speakers, including senior journalist Pratibedan Baidya and ShreeRam Pudasaini, praised Baidya’s enduring commitment to literature, particularly his continued contributions even at the age of 80.
During the event, Baidya shared that despite facing health challenges that affect his ability to concentrate, he feels a deep responsibility to continue writing and raising awareness about social issues. A retired teacher, Baidya has also worked as a journalist, publishing over 100 articles on contemporary issues. He has been recognized as a Press Freedom Fighter for his significant contributions to the media field.
