Initiatives taken to open hospitals run by security bodies to general people


Kathmandu / Dec 23: A taskforce has been formed to make necessary preparation with an objective of providing services in hospitals operated by Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police even to the general people.

Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, formed a taskforce under the leadership of additional secretary Dr Tanka Barakoti to make arrangement to provide health services even to the general people in the hospitals run by security bodies.

The taskforce has been asked to prepare necessary procedure and a report with the information about possibility of its implementation.

A cabinet meeting held on May 17 had decided to open these hospitals for the general people and prepare framework and procedure of collaboration with concerned ministries to provide health services.

The taskforce comprises representatives of Home and Defense Ministries, hospitals run by security bodies and officers of health ministry. RSS
