JSP-Nepal to continue support to govt; Five ordinances to be tabled on Wednesday

Kathmandu / March 4: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has decided to continue its support to the government.

The three-day meeting of its central committee concluded today with a decision to keep its support to the government.

Although JSP has supported five ordinances, including ‘Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081’, ‘Economic Procedure and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081’, and ‘Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081’, the JSP has been opposing the ‘Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to Land, 2081’.

Similarly, JSP Nepal has also supported the ‘Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to Economic and Business Environment Improvement and Investment Promotion, 2081’, ‘Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to Cooperatives, 2081’, ‘Ordinance on Promotion of Good Governance, 2081’.

JSP spokesperson Manish Suman said the meeting drew a conclusion that the incumbent government could not deliver to end corruption, maintain good governance, advance development works and put forward constitution amendment. However, the party’s support to the government would continue, he shared.

The meeting also extended its support to the ‘No Cable Car Campaign’ underway in Pathibhara against the construction of a cable car and decided to draw the government’s attention to resolve the problem through dialogue, he added.

Five ordinances to be tabled in HoR meeting on Wednesday

Five ordinances are being tabled in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting for approval on Wednesday. The HoR meeting has been summoned for 1:00 pm, tomorrow.

A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of HoR held on Tuesday finalized the list of business for the HoR meeting by agreeing to table Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081; the Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081 and the Privatisation (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081.

Likewise, the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Economic and Business Environment Improvement and Investment Promotion, 2081 and the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Cooperatives will be tabled at the HoR meeting on Wednesday.

Though the government introduced six ordinances a month ago, the government is tabling five ordinances only after the Janata Samajwadi Party and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party stood against the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts relating to Land, 2081.

Meanwhile, the major ruling parties Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) have asked their HoR members to compulsorily attend the HoR meeting on Wednesday directing them to second the ordinances. RSS
