Socialist Front consulting civil society, and intellectuals on Saturday; Unified Socialist announces protest programmes against Govt.

Kathmandu, March 14: The Socialist Front is to hold discussions with the intelligentsia and the civil society about the latest political scenario on Saturday.
The 12th central working committee meeting of the Front held at the central office of CPN (Unified Socialist) at Aloknagar today decided this effect.
The Socialist Front is scheduled to hold an interaction with journalists on Saturday itself. The Front also decided to forward political dialogue with political parties and leaders of parties in and out of the parliament, said the Spokesperson of the Nepal Communist Party, Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma.
He added, “The decision was taken to take extensive political efforts to create an environment to protect national sovereignty and republic and take the journey of socialism ahead with determination.”
The meeting also decided to make the protest assembly and mass demonstration fixed for March 28 a success.
Stating that a discussion was held about the country’s political situation, he mentioned the meeting drew the conclusion that the country’s political situation is becoming more complex due to the demonstration of supporters of the monarchy.
Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal, Netra Bikram Chand, Chairperson of Nepal Socialist Party, Mahindra Raya Yadav, among others, were present at the meeting.
Unified Socialist announces two-month-long protest programmes against government
Meanwhile, the CPN (Unified Socialist) made its protest programmes public on Friday. General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal unveiled the programmes for the first phase of the protest during a press conference in Kathmandu. The protest will conclude on May 8.
“This movement aims to free politics from the game of power and the maneuvering in upcoming elections. It is a revolutionary initiative against unemployment and corruption and a campaign for cooperation and unity among revolutionaries,” said Bhusal.
As per the protest plan, discussions will be held in the party’s lower committees from March 15-19, suggestions will be collected from various unions, organisations, and individuals at the central level from March 20 to March 28, and a memorandum will be submitted to the government on April 2. Public dialogues will be conducted at the provincial and district levels by mid-April.
On April 18, memorandums will be submitted at provincial and district administrations. Public dialogues will be conducted at the municipal and ward levels by April 28, and memorandums will be submitted to municipal and ward offices from May 2 to May 5.
Bhusal said that the second phase of the protest will be announced on May 8.
The CPN (Unified Socialist) has accused the current ruling coalition of failing to address the country’s economic problems. The party has also charged the ruling coalition with incompetence and stressed the need to inform the public about these issues.
