FNCCI Prez urges migrant workers to invest in Nepal

Kathmandu / April 19: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, urged Nepalis who are on foreign employment to invest in Nepal.
Addressing the first convention organized for the establishment of a multi-purpose revolving fund under the patronage of Baglung Sewa Samaj-Qatar in Doha on Friday, President Dhakal shared that a false narrative was created that ‘there is nothing in Nepal’ and ‘nothing has happened in Nepal’.
“People have been brewing a false and negative narrative which is a wrong tendency. However, there is a huge potential of investment in Nepal. We can achieve a lot if we work hard in Nepal as done abroad”, he argued, saying that mere criticism of Nepal in comparison to development and technology is illogical.
Sharing that Nepal Development Company with Rs 10 billion capital was established in order to provide investment opportunities to Nepalis, who are in foreign employment, President Dhakal urged Nepali migrant workers to invest through the company. The company is investing in hydropower, tourism, industry sectors as well as different potential areas by accumulating scattered capitals of Nepalis in and outside the country, he informed.
The business leader thanked Baglung folks currently staying in Qatar for establishing the revolving fund to carry out the activities as per social responsibility and announced to support Rs 1.5 million to the fund.
Dhakal was also honoured on the occasion.
