Minister Yadav announces to ban bottled, jar water in Singha Durbar

Kathmandu / April 23: Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav announced a ban on bottled and jar water in Singha Durbar, the country’s main administrative center.
Following a field visit to various sites and sources for the distribution of Melamchi drinking water within Singha Durbar, Minister Yadav said that authorities will permanently end the use of bottled and jar water, which has been in use for years.
“We are making progress towards replacing the jar and bottled water that has been used here for years. Soon, we will start distributing Melamchi’s clean drinking water in Singha Durbar,” said Minister Yadav. He led a team on Wednesday to inspect the distribution of Melamchi water to several ministries including the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
Minister Yadav assured that clean, purified water from Melamchi will reach Singha Durbar by mid-April. “Once Melamchi’s clean water is available, my clear plan is to gradually replace the bottled and jar water currently in use in Singha Durbar. We must unite and move forward to ensure clean water is accessible to everyone,” he added.
He expressed gratitude to everyone for supporting the transformation of Singha Durbar into a symbol of clean, transparent and people-centered administration and for joining in their collective effort to enhance its capabilities.
