Implement budget effectively, prepare for elections: PM
Kathmandu / Aug. 2: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has issued 27-point directives to the Ministers and secretaries on effective implementation of the programmes included in the annual budget and preparation for the elections.
Calling the Ministers and secretaries at the office of the Council of Ministers for the meeting, PM Deuba instructed them to accord high priority to the preparations for the election of the members of the House of Representatives and the members of the Provincial Assembly as the elections will be held within a few months.
Saying that the present five-party coalition government has maintained political stability and established new leadership at the local levels by holding the elections, PM Deuba stated that enthusiasm was seen in service delivery and development.
The PM asked the Ministers and secretaries to complete preparations for ensuring that the country becomes self-reliant on vegetables within six months and on food grains within a year.
He said that all the ministries should prepare plans and move forward with increasing electricity consumption and promoting exports.
In the meeting, all the ministers put forth their views on the annual budget and its implementation.
