Track opened in Manang 20 years after starting road expansion

Manang / May 9: The local government has taken the initiative to open a road track in Narpabhumi of Manang 20 years after starting the road expansion drive in the area.

Assistant Chief District Officer Shishir Ghimire told Republica that the road road expansion drive has been resumed after opening the track using explosives with the budget allocated by the provincial government and the municipality. This municipality is yet to be connected to the road network.

Ghimire shared that opening of track in the Koto-Chenkhu road section of Narpabhumi has started since Tuesday following the decision of the District Security Committee.

The local authorities have requested the pedestrians to stay away from the construction site during the use of explosives and also to keep livestock off the track.

The Gandaki provincial government and local municipality have allotted Rs 5 million and Rs 9 million respectively for the opening of the track.
