LPC organizes Orientation on new constitution

Bhimduttanagar / November 9: The Local Peace Committee Darchula organized orientations at Shankerpur VDC Sunday to inform the general public on the content of the newly-promulgated constitution.

The orientations to the stakeholders have been so far held in five VDCs of Lekam area including Shankerpur, Malikarjun, Bhagawati, Gwani and Hunainath, informed Local Peace Committee Darchula Secretary Tejraj Timalsina.

On the occasion, Assistant Chief District Officer Biswomitra Kuinkel informed the stakeholders about the provisions and arrangements enshrined by Nepal’s Constitution-2072 BS and noted that the constitution has addressed the aspirations of Nepali people.

Present at the programme presided over by Local Peace Committee Darchula Coordiantor Durga Dhami were chiefs of Darchula-based government and non-government organizations, political parties, stakeholders and the general public. In other districts as well LPCs have been organizing such awareness sessions.

As Madhesh centric political parties have mislead people about the provisions of new constitution, CPN-UML has been organize program in tarai districts to inform people about the provisions of new constitution. Madhesh centric parties have been instigating people for strike saying the new constitution discriminates them. They have been blocking the major border since three months which has created shortage of essential goods including medicine. RSS
