Two more sources of hot water found; Myagdi to get 18 suspension bridges
Myagdi / February 6: Two new sources of natural hot water have been found in Beni Municipality-13 of Myagdi.
The natural sources of hot water were found in middle part of the upper and lower Tatopani markets and on the bank of Myagdi River, Tatopani Kunda (Hot Pond) Management Committee Chair Birendraman Shakya said. There is already a hot pond known as Tatopani Kunda in the district.
It is popular among the folks as a natural healing spot. People suffering from injuries, wounds and gastritis arrive here to take bath with natural salty hot water with the belief that it would help them heal.
Some 20,000 patients visit the Tatopani Kunda every year. The Committee has geared up for protecting the newly found hot ponds.
Meanwhile, construction of 18 hanging bridges have begun in hilly district Myagdi this year. The constructions are estimated to cost Rs 50 million.
Over 70,00 households of three wards of Beni Municipality and other twenty VDCs are to be beneficial from the constructions of bridges. The District Development Committee, Mygadi, Village Development Committee, and Decentralized Rural Infrastructure, and Livelihood Project have provided final support while TBSU and Milan Myagdi extended technical assistance for the bridge constructions project. Locals too have joined hands in the project which is expected to complete within the current fiscal year.
Kaligandaki, Lete Stream of Kuinemangale, Chitrafedi of Lulang, Myagdi River, Jaga and Barjunga are among the rivers getting suspension bridges, according to Myagdi District Technical Office Sub Engineer Balkrishna Poudel. RSS
