Cancer treatment starts for first time in eastern Nepal

Birat HospitalMorang / March 12: The treatment of the much feared disease ‘cancer’ has commenced at the Birat Hospital Pvt Ltd located in Biratnagar.

The cancer treatment is first of its kind in the entire eastern region of Nepal. Hospital Administrator, Dr Gyanendra Man Singh Karki, said chemotherapy including all other cancer treatments was introduced targeting the sick in the eastern region.

The hospital has also brought into operation a cost-free OPD service in relation to treatment of cancer.

It will launch a special service with 30 beds for the time being while senior cancer specialists will provide necessary consultation to the patients. The cancer specialists’ team comprises Ujwal Chalise, Rabin Kathayat and Saugat Poudel. RSS
