Registration of illegal health institutes to be scrapped

Health MinistryKathmandu / April 18: The registration of ayurvedic clinics and health institutions in operation in contravention of the standards set by the government is set to be annuled.

The health treatment centres and clinics not registered with the Department of Ayurveda, advertising at will in a way to create illusion and lacking the required infrastructure would face action, the Department stated today.

Director General at the Department of Ayurveda Dr Tek Raj Panthi said the department was monitoring and regulating such clinics that were cheating customers advertising and spreading illusory messages that they could cure hair loss and cancer.

The department has fixed set criteria for operating general clinic, polyclinic and hospitals.

Yoga, health laboratory, X-ray, homeopathy, acupuncture and allied services are mandatory for operating polyclinic.

DG Panthi said the department will give some time for making arrangements for these services if any polyclinic is found not having these facilities in course of monitoring. The department shall fix penalty and even scrap the registration of the polyclinic if found not to have improved even in the given deadline, he added. RSS
