Primary development of children on priority

ChildrenNepalgunj / Aug 12: Various stakeholders have stressed the need to put overall development of children on top priority to prepare the base for country’s development.

The stakeholders said this at a workshop ‘Enhancement of Multi-Stakeholders Investment on Primary Child Care and Development Programme’ organized here by Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City in collaboration with UNICEF, Plan Nepal, Save the Children and District Education Office on Thursday.

On the occasion, the participants asked the state agencies to place top priority to the plans of children development in its policy and programmes.

At the programme, child expert Dr Kishor Shrestha and Dr Deepu Shakya from UNICEF had presented a working paper on the ‘Importance, need, rationale and investment of primary child development’. Likewise, acting Executive Director of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City Mohan Hamal and Manju Wagle of UNICEF presented a working paper on ‘Multi-stakeholders’ child care, primary care and role of child friendly local governance for child development’.
